Drilling Mud
Drilling Mud
Bentonite has excellent suspension and thixotropy in aqueous solution, that is, when there is external stirring, the suspension behaves as a sol liquid with good fluidity. After stopping stirring, it will arrange itself into a gel with a three-dimensional network structure. Sedimentation and water separation occur, and it is especially suitable for preparing drilling mud. It is understood that on average, approximately 8 tons of bentonite are used for each well.
